Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay is the U.S. Atlantic Fleet’s home port for U.S. Navy Fleet ballistic missile nuclear submarines that are armed with Trident missile nuclear weapons. The Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay covers nearly 16,000 acres and is located near St. Marys in southeastern Georgia. Other major tenants located at NSB Kings Bay include the Trident Refit Facility, the Trident Training Facility, and the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion. Housing at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay is handled by the Navy Family Housing, and those military personnel looking for on-post housing need to contract the housing office to complete a housing application. The housing office will decide, based on the number of bedrooms, who will get a particular assignment. If military personnel are looking for off-post housing, they are requested to contact the Navy Housing Office before making any off-post arrangements. Balfour Beatty Communities has partnered with Southeast Housing LLC to take care of all housing needs. Kings Bay offers over 600 housing units available to active duty military.
Single service members are assigned to live in bachelor quarters. The enlisted Bachelor Housing complex consists of over 1100 rooms and can hold over 1600 single personnel. Accommodations include a private room and bath with laundry facilities available 24 hours a day. Smoking is allowed in designated areas only. Temporary housing facilities are provided by the Navy Lodge located in Building 0158 and the Transient Visitor’s Quarters which is now the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites. Military personnel can stay for up to 30 days with approval upon arriving and upon departing. Rooms include refrigerators, microwaves and kitchenettes. Pets are not allowed at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites. Reservations can be made in advance, and pets are welcome at the Navy Lodge. RV hookup sites are also provided with electrical and sewage hookups as well as water facilities.
